Although many out there may believe that that the last thing the vampire/werewolf genre needs is yet another television show/series; the recently adapted for the US market series Being Human now running on the SyFy channel is a pleasant surprise. The story portrays a young vampire, Aidan played by Sam Witwer, who is an orderly at a hospital and becomes friends with a recently transitioned werewolf, Josh played by Sam Huntington who is also a fellow orderly. The laws of nature state that these two should be enemies however, they find that they share the same predicament which is how to survive and co-exist with humans while maintaining their secret. Josh is an emotional mess and constantly worries about hurting someone while he is in werewolf form as eh tends to black out. While Aidan does not hunt for humans he still drinks human blood except not straight from the source if you will. Instead he pilfers bagged blood which he takes form the hospital he works at, pretty convenient huh?. One final piece added to the plot mix is the introduction of another supernatural being, not a zombie nor a witch but in actuality the ghost of a young woman, Emily played by Meaghan Rath. The trio end up living together in the same house and while there are some funny moments as the roommates attempt to get along and co-exist there is plenty of blood, gore and darkness to keep the show interesting and entertaining.
The Walking Dead
One of the hottest new shows this fall is The Walking Dead, and no it's not vampires, it's all about Zombies! After watching the success that vampires and werewolves have had these last two years, we see the return of yet another classic monster; zombies. If you are a fan of either the original black and white Night of The Living Dead or a fan of more modern versions of zombie movies like 28 Days or the remake of Night of The Living Dead etc, then you are going to love this hot new series now playing on AMC channel. Watch out HOV fans; Zombies are "back, smack" in the middle of vampires, werewolves joining the supernatural circuit!
We are sad to see TWD end after a very short (six episodes) but entertaining run. The season finale did not disappoint endeing with a big explosion while leaving many questions unaswered. Though the rumors hinted at some dissention between the writers and producer, the great news is that the show will be returning; the bad news, you will have to wait till October 2011!

Nothing in the world is safe from the vampire trend, even the Bible.
That's right. The latest thing to get vampire-ized is the story of Cain and Abel, the very first sibling rivalry as told in the book of Genesis.
This isn't just some online ripoff: It's going to be a feature film, The Legend of Cain, starring Will Smith as the sinful, fanged older brother.
Smith will play "the original Bad Boy" in what's been described as "an epic retelling of the Biblical sibling tale, this time with a vampiric twist,". Exclusive report by Deadline Hollywood Click Here.
The vampire element makes it sound less authentic than recent Bible-based movies like The Passion of the Christ or even the Bible-inspired Book of Eli, but the movie's writers--Caleeb Pinkett (Jada's brother) and Dan Knauf-- didn't come up with it entirely on their own.
Some track the history of vampires back beyond Slavic legends to Cain himself, as portrayed in extra-biblical legends. (Hence, the movie's title, the legend of Cain.)
Now, apocryphal stories aren't in the biblical canon, so they're seen as secondary sources at best, and the interpretations by vampire-obsessed folks are even more shaky, but here goes. Twilight Saga: Eclipse Review by HOV
The third installment of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse certainly did not disappoint! With box office revenue surpassing the $69 million dollar mark after it's first weekend of showing it placed this franchise as one of the most profitable in the movie industry today! Twilighters certainly continue to demonstrate their devotion to the series!
HOV did not attend the premiere but instead elected to watch Eclipse at a newly renovated theater that hosted a bar and roomy & comfortable brand new leather recliners. This certainly made the movie-going experiece a treat to the senses and might have had a slight but positive effect on how we feel about the movie. Overall the movie was well made with some minor script and scene misteps; some of us would have liked to see the battle between the Cullens, wolves and newborn vampires last a bit longer. Also some of the humor that was so endearing of the character Jake was missing pretty much most of the time. The book had some pretty funny one-liners that did not make it into the movie. However, we still found the movie worthy and actually feel that Eclipse beat the first two installments in the action and thrill side. This time around at the theater we got to see more members of the opposite sex! which is a sure sign that the franchise has managed to capture more market share since the first installment.

The lonely boy's wish for a friend seems to come true when he meets Eli, also 12, who moves in next door to him with her father. A pale, serious young girl, she only comes out at night and doesn't seem affected by the freezing temperatures.Coinciding with Eli's arrival is a series of inexplicable disappearances and murders. One man is found tied to a tree, another frozen in the lake, a woman bitten in the neck. Blood seems to be the common denominator--and for an introverted boy like Oskar, who is fascinated by gruesome stories, it doesn't take long before he figures out that Eli is a vampire. CANNES -- Media 8 Entertainment has recruited Kurt Russell to star in its supernatural thriller "Undying."
The neo-noir creeper, penned by "Book of Eli" scribe Gary Whitta and originally titled "Reaper," tells the story of private investigator Virgil Lone, who gets pulled into a surreal underworld when he is hired by the mysterious Delia. Production is scheduled to begin in the fall.
"Kurt Russell is perfect for this role," Hall said. "He is truly one of the few actors who audiences continually embrace as a real hero."
A rights deal recently closed with the estate of Dan Curtis, the creator of the original Dark Shadows. Depp’s film production company Infinitum-Nihil and GK films have teamed with Warner Brothers to produce the new film. A script for the film rendition of the popular and long-running 1960s soap opera is definitely in the works. It comes as no surprise that Tim Burton, who has teamed with Depp before to create other dark masterpieces, will be director of the new film, which is planned to be released sometime in 2011.
